A favorite practice of mine is to take my favorite songs and turn them into a gig poster or album art. It’s an endless exercise that keeps me learning new styles and looking for future projects. This was a concept for “Sympathy for the Devil” by the Rolling Stones.

Starting with a skull study I had recently completed, I turned to my playlist for current most listened-to songs. The Rolling Stones, a familiar resident in my top 10, provided a perfect theme for this artwork to be morphed into a poster concept. Playing with ProCreate’s custom brushes and a post-editing process through Photoshop, I found a perfect style of weathered textures and gradient grains.
