Close by my side is either my 45-year old film Pentax k1000 or my digital Canon DSLR. Between the two, I love the process of finding texture and compositional techniques. Typically, I’ll try to find my thirds, lead lines, or utilize negative space for most of the scenes I find. Black and white for me is so raw and exposed that, without the distraction of colour, your eye is focused more on the image’s focal point. It also leaves an open sense of interpretation of the scene for whoever views it.
